Didn’t have a lot of time in Houston, but hit a couple of highlights. We drove from the hotel in Southeast Texas (a new Home2Suites – part of the Hilton chain – nice place, sort of a Hampton-level Suites hotel) to Bush Intercontinental Airport passing several of the oil refineries along the Houston Shipchannel. Brought back some fond memories of when I used to work in the Shell Deer Park refinery when I worked in tank farm automation for Texas Instruments, Holly and Heathe got to see the size and complexity of the refineries. Nice not to be working there anymore!
The main activities was to see the new Star Wars “Rouge One” movie – what a great movie and well worth the time. We wandered around the DeerPark Mall after to the moving and got the airport early. After a snack in the airport, we boarded the flight to New Zealand.
